Established in 13 December 1995, this store attracts
visitors to the Kapiti Coast, as well as regular customers from the wider
Wellington region and the Kapiti Coast. Their range of customers vary; from
tourist to family. This store has one of the oldest live glass beehives, which
has never died out since it began with a few sheets of comb and a new swarm,
back in December 1995. The Kapiti store has a bar from which you can have free
samples of wines, meads and honey-based cream liqueurs, as well as a honey bar
where you can taste New Zealand’s widest selection of pure NZ honey and
honey-based spreads. You will enjoy the ultimate experience factor at the Kapiti
Store; Wellington Top Show finalist and winner of Kapiti Electra’s Tourist Award 2004.

The Wellington store opened in June 2004 as New
Zealand’s only honey specialist retail store in a High Street of a major City.
The Wellington store attracts both New Zealand and overseas customers who enjoy premium NZ honeys either for themselves
or as a gift. Delicious premium honey ice-creams are available at this store, as are manuka fudges, and healthy and natural manuka honey tonics. The Wellington staff are highly
trained in all aspects of honey and their health properties, and can help find
that special gift as well as fabulous gift-wrapping. Their customers enjoy the
warm interaction they receive when they visit the Wellington store,and this
store has already been a finalist in Top Shop, noting wonderful customer service

Honey Hive originates back to the early
1970’s when first opened in Poihipi Road as Taupo Honey Centre, and later Honey
Village. In 1992, in its present location near Huka Falls, it became Honey Hive,
known as New Zealand’s largest honey store and one of Taupo’s most popular and
long-standing tourist destinations. Their large format store sells everything
from the full range of Honeyco honey products, natural honey based cosmetics,
bee products, including royal jelly, propolis and bee pollen, and tourist
giftware. As a complete destination store, you can enjoy a honey-based dish from
their in-store café, a honey ice-cream, or learn all about the honey bee when
you see their bees work in their range of glass beehives, and interactive study
and video on bees.
